Yak down is one of nature’s most refined fibers — exquisitely soft, exceptionally warm, and naturally hypoallergenic. Unlike sheep’s wool, yak down contains no lanolin, making it an excellent choice for those with wool sensitivities or allergies. Each year, less than 500 grams of fine down is gently hand-combed from each animal. Unlike other grazing animals, yaks tread lightly, preserving native grasses and minimizing environmental impact.

TOGETHER WITH MONGOLIAN FAMILIES
Our yak down throws and blankets are knit and woven exclusively in Mongolia in collaboration with nomadic herder families and skilled, family-run producers, to support local economies and preserve time-honored traditions.
Rich in texture and in comfort, the Beehive Knit Throw is crafted from pure Mongolian yak down in a softly sculpted, honeycomb-like pattern. This distinctive knit is luxurious and offers a modern touch, while the rare and exotic yak fiber offers natural breathability, exceptional softness, and quiet durability. Designed for cozy layering and everyday indulgence, the Beehive Knit Throw brings luxurious warmth.
Taiga, in Mongolia, means “the land of little sticks,” but more generally refers to the boreal northern forests that are cloaked in long, cold winters. Our Taiga throw is knit from yak down and is designed to keep you cozy and warm even in sub-zero temperatures. The rare yak down used in our collections is primarily sourced from the Hangai Mountain range—the inspiration for our brand name.
Resilient and adapted to extreme cold, yaks grow a soft undercoat that’s gently hand-combed each spring—yielding less than 500 grams per animal per year. Unlike other grazing livestock, yaks tread lightly on the land, preserving native grasses and supporting the delicate balance of Mongolia’s high-altitude ecosystems.
